Meet the Team: Moonyee McWhinnie

What is your role at Affinity?

Reception / Office Administration

What aspects do you love about your job and the company?

I’m fortunate enough to be part of the team and work with amiable and knowledgeable people at Affinity. With a positive, personal approach to Corporate & Trust Services from the Directors and all. As the Company expands rapidly with dynamic, continuity and prosperity, I believe Affinity will continue to grow.

Affinity has not only allowed me to continue to expand my confidence, my organisational skills, but also inspire and progress within the client service orientated environment, the interaction with the internal members of staff and external clients and the varied aspects of my responsibilities also when asked being able to use my Chinese language skills in translations and communication.

How has your career progressed so far and how long have you been with us at Affinity?

I joined the team at Affinity in November 2018, my role encompasses all matters relating secretarial and office administration including managing all aspects of reception. In regard to my career path and progress within the company I would hope that when the opportunity allows then I can gain further experience / training within other remits.

Can you tell us a little more about your life at home?

I live with my husband Jimmy, we have been married for over 21 years we met whilst I was at university in Edinburgh and we have a very important member of our family Abby our 13 year old Liver and White English Springer, and six lovely grandchildren and the youngest one is only 4 months old little boy.

What are your interests and hobbies?

I enjoy walks with Abby, she loves the water and I love watching her having fun and enjoy the time with her. Painting, gardening and having joined the health club I try to swim when possible twice a week. Travelling especially back home to HK which we do at least once a year to see my family, eating out, dancing and karaoke all night.

Finally, could you tell us something not many people may know about you?

I genuinely believe Buddhism’s philosophy that meditation, spiritual and physical labour and good behaviour are the ways to achieve enlightenment.  If you knew what I know about the power of giving, Love what you have. Need what you want. Accept what you receive. Always remember, what goes around, comes around!
