Meet the Team: Matteo Lapira

In this “Meet the Team” article, we hear from Matteo, our Client Administrator in Malta, who joined the team in March 2023, just over a year ago.

What does your day-to-day role at Affinity involve?

As a Client Administrator, I manage a portfolio of clients, addressing their requests, queries, and issues. My primary focus is maintaining the highest possible level of service at all times.

What led you to this career?

After years in the public service, I decided to shift gears and explore the Corporate Services industry. Fortunately, this transition led me into the exciting world of yachting and Affinity.

What skills are you currently working on?

I firmly believe in the importance of continuous learning and growth. Currently, I’m honing my adaptability, tackling new challenges, and expanding my knowledge of project management principles. Improving my communication skills is also a priority, as I am keen to evolve professionally and personally.

What’s your go-to tea or coffee order?

I prefer my coffee simple: an Americano with no sugar at home. When I’m out, especially during the hot Maltese summers or the cold season, an Iced Americano is my go-to choice.

What is the best thing about being part of the Affinity team?

The standout feature of the Affinity team for me is undoubtedly the familial atmosphere at our Malta office. This is closely followed by our management’s open-door policy and the invaluable knowledge I’ve gained over the past 13 months.

What has been your favourite social or Wellness Committee event so far?

It’s tough to choose, but the summer boat party and the Christmas weekend party in the Isle of Man are both cherished memories that stand out.

What have you seen recently that has made you smile?

I recently stumbled upon an old photo album from my childhood. Leafing through it, I was transported back to those carefree days filled with laughter and love. It was a beautiful reminder to appreciate the journey and the special moments that have shaped who I am today.

What is your favourite way to unwind after a busy day?

There’s nothing quite like watching the sunset with a glass of Pinot Noir and sharing the moment with a loved one. This is my favourite way to relax and reflect on the day.
