Meet the Team: Eliza Rayner

What does your day-day role at Affinity involve?
My role at Affinity is Business Development Executive, this involves me developing new business across a variety of sectors within the group sector portfolio, including commercial property, family office, gaming, residency & citizenship and trusts. My role also has a particular focus on developing business in Malta and Cayman, two out of three of the Groups jurisdictions.
What led you to this career?
I have been at Affinity for just over two years, my previous role was ‘Group Strategy Analyst’ and I was responsible for coordinating the Group’s Marketing and PR. I also conducted research on sectors and jurisdictions to aid the company’s strategy. I also had some involvement in new business and at the start of 2023, I began my new role in business development.
What skills are you currently working on?
I am currently completing my Level 6 Diploma in the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Although I am not doing marketing day-to-day, I still communicate with our Head of Group Marketing and enjoy having some involvement.
What’s your go-to tea or coffee order?
Flat white with oat milk!
What is the best thing about being part of the Affinity team?
I enjoy going into the office every day because we work in a positive environment and our team get along well. We are really supportive to one another and this is in relation to both professionally and personally.
Favourite Social /or Wellness Committee event so far?
It has to be the summer party, for the last two years it has been Foraging Vintners in Port Erin. The venue is right on the beach and if the weather is nice, luckily it has been, it is such a great day. The catering is amazing, there is always a lobster pot and the best homemade fizz.
Something you saw recently that made you smile?
My friend sending a video of her baby hysterically laughing ☺️
What is your favourite way to unwind after a busy day?
Exercise with music, either a run, workout or pilates – I always feel so refreshed after a day in the office.
If you could add one thing to the Affinity office, what would it be?
It would be so cool to have an outside space, like a terrace to use in the summer!
