Isle of Man Team Summer Party 2024
A few weeks ago our team in the Isle of Man headed to the south of the Island with the Hill Robinson team to enjoy the annual summer party!
The event was kindly hosted by Foraging Vintners, a popular local cocktail bar and craft brewery situated in Port Erin bay. The brand may be recognizable from their pink bottled fizz sprayed by the winning TT rider’s every year on the TT podium!
We initially kicked off the afternoon with a stroll along the beach and participated in a beach clean to clear any plastic litter we could find, in partnership with a local charity, Beach Buddies. We have worked with Beach Buddies for over a year and as a UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man member, we aim to do a beach clean every quarter to preserve the island’s wonderful ecosystem and to take action against plastic pollution.
After, the team had an array of activities organised that they could choose to get stuck into. Some team members took to the water on Aqua Bikes, a new initiative in Port Erin which is exactly what you think it is – cycling on water! Take a look at the images at the end of this article to how fun it looks. Some of team member’s even went out to the cliffs around the headland.
We had a whole range of sports day activities set out on the beach which was a great team building exercise and brought much laughter. From fun silly games such as egg & spoon to a serious tug of war competition, we’re pretty sure the whole beach and all the boats out in the sea thoroughly enjoyed watching!
After all the chaos, the team headed to Foraging Vintners to relax in the sunshine and enjoy some artisan cocktails. As the sun went down, we were treated to a delectable buffet, including fresh local lobster, Smokey Sam’s pulled-pork baps and a delicious spread of salads.
What a day and we are already looking forward to next year’s event.
