It all started in a small office in Douglas, Isle of Man

Andy Morgan, Group CEO and Alex Gardner, COO have worked alongside one another for many years. Their relationship initiated working in the CSP sector as administrators, and both joined Affinity at mid-level. Their personal journeys of progression have mirrored the company’s growth, and in recent years they have both stepped into leadership roles with a focus on driving innovation in Affinity’s brand and diversification into its offering. By applying their strategic vision it has been fundamental in Affinity’s success.

We originated in 2004 on the Isle of Man. We developed our position in the luxury asset sector by forming relationships with high net worth clients that expected exceptional attention to detail.

In our early years we focused on organic growth in the yachting sector. We built our reputation in the Isle of Man by providing a superior level of service at a competitive price.

Our success in the sector led us to diversify into other sectors such as Aviation, Commercial and Residential Property, Trust and general Corporate Services. As we expanded our offering, we applied our philosophy; a personal approach to corporate services which involves providing bespoke, tailored advice to our clients to meet individual goals.

Our growth was flourishing, and in 2011 we expanded to Malta to offer our clients more opportunities in a new jurisdiction. A globally leading maritime hub, and a new environment for our clients in the luxury asset sector, our clients could benefit from an alternative VAT and fiscal regime, a world renowned flag to sail under and a strategic location within Europe.

Our expansion to Malta was a monumental success, and only strengthened our position in the yachting sector.

The introduction of a young and dynamic leadership team with a new vision to surge innovation into the Group’s brand and a new strategy to push diversification and exploration into niche and emerging sectors.  The result, a transition from the traditional, a contemporary brand reflecting our diverse offering; one that stands out in the luxury asset sector, yet fits in with our emerging sectors.

We experienced substantial growth in our emerging sectors, with egaming becoming our fastest growing sector. In fintech, we handled major crypto acquisitions on the Isle of Man. Our emerging sectors flourished across the group, and we assisted with numerous egaming enquiries in Malta.

With the continuous influx of new business across our sectors, we had a 33% increase in workforce on the Isle of Man. We achieved multiple awards, including Silver for both Trust Company of the Year – Isle of Man in the Citywealth IFC Awards and Trust Company of the Year Boutique – Isle of Man in the Citywealth Magic Circle Awards. We expanded to the Cayman Islands, adding a Cayman office into our Group. With the strategy to offer our clients more opportunities in the yachting sector, the jurisdiction provides our clients with many attractive characteristics such as the opportunity to sail under the Red Ensign flag, one of the most prestigious in the world. As we entered 2022, we achieved Gold for Trust Company of the Year – Isle of Man in the Citywealth IFC Awards. We are continuously exploring emerging sectors such as are esports and the medical cannabis sector in the Isle of Man.
