Alexandra Gardner, Business Women of the Year – Business Growth (Boutique) Bronze in the Powerwomen Awards 2022

This March it was the Citywealth Powerwomen Gala held in Mayfair, London. An event celebrating women in the wealth sector and highlighting the female leaders of today and tomorrow, Alex Gardner was shortlisted for Business Women of the Year Business Growth (Boutique) and achieved Bronze in her category.

A true reflection of her dedication, leadership and strategic vision, the award is a representation of the consistent organic growth at Affinity lead by Alex. Alex has built an exceptional depth of knowledge across sectors, and jurisdictions. The way that she shares her knowledge to lead her team and guide her clients is inspiring, with an extremely friendly and approachable style.

Behind key drivers of the company’s success, Alex has surged innovation into the brand, and its offering, adopting niche, emerging sectors, and targeting new jurisdictions.

On behalf of all the team, we would like to congratulate Alex for achieving this award which is a testament to her continuous hard work.

A 50/50 split of female and male board members at Affinity, we believe represents our equal platform that is made up of both strong and ambitious female and male leaders at Affinity.

Citywealth CEO, Karen Jones, states –

“Congratulations to all the winners of the Citywealth Powerwomen Awards 2002. The recent FTSE Women Leaders Review shows that almost 40% of UK FTSE100 board positions are now held by women. Peter Swabey, Policy and Research Director at The CGI (The Chartered Governance Institute) says it “compares to 12.5 per cent just ten years ago.” The net effect of this is that improvements have been made and awareness raised to ensure both women and men can shake off stereotypes and construct a more empowering work environment. Citywealth Powerwomen may have suffered along the way but stand as beacons of success –paying it forward for the next generation. This contest was born with the help of an LSE professor and its aim has always been to support women and to recognise their champions with upward career progression. The tools identified ten years ago are still relevant today: recognition internally and externally to peers and co-workers. Citywealth Powerwomen Awards are proud to have been part of the success story and ongoing journey.”
