Aidan shares his unforgettable experience at ICE Barcelona 2025
Two weeks ago today, our team members were in Barcelona, the buzzing capital of Catalonia, for one of the biggest and most highly anticipated events in the eGaming industry: ICE.
As official Stand Partners with the Isle of Man Government, our team members were there to share their industry knowledge on the Isle of Man eGaming sector and guidance on how we can support eGaming businesses with our bespoke range of corporate services.
We caught up with Aidan, a Client Administrator within the eGaming team in the Isle of Man, to hear about his experience at the show and some of the invaluable insights he gained.
Firstly, please share with everyone what you do in the eGaming sector.
I work in the Affinity Isle of Man office within the eGaming team. As a Client Administrator, I provide dedicated assistance to my portfolio of eGaming clients, which includes a mix of regulated B2B and B2C entities. My role involves being our clients’ key point of contact, delivering smooth communication and service while ensuring our clients meet their regulatory requirements. I assist with new licence applications, upholding Affinity’s 100% success rate of OGRA Licence Applications.
I also liaise with our network of intermediaries in the eGaming sector, including PSPs, banks and law firms, to provide our clients with efficient solutions.
As its first year in Barcelona, what did you think of the conference this year?
This was my first eGaming conference, and having worked in the sector for several years, I was very much looking forward to it. It truly did not disappoint.
It was widely regarded that the show this year was bigger and better than at its previous venue in London. And I can see why: over 55,000 attendees attended the show, and there was an incredible buzz in the air!
Over 630 exhibitors attended the show, and the stands were nothing short of exceptional! It was fascinating to see the current technological innovation in the industry.
It was an honour to represent the Isle of Man and provide insight into an industry I am highly passionate about.
What was it like being on the Isle of Man stand?
Busy! It was great to experience firsthand what our incredible business development team does at conferences they attend throughout the year. I have always enjoyed developing client relationships, and it was brilliant to meet many of our clients in person.
I enjoyed applying my industry knowledge in person and addressing client pain points with solutions that the Isle of Man license or our range of services could offer.
As my colleagues would tell you, I like to talk, so it was amazing to connect with people from all over the world who share my interests.
Did you enjoy the conference? And do you have a most memorable moment?
The conference was epic! I can’t wait to go back next year!
Apart from connecting with our existing clients and exploring new business opportunities – the highlight must be meeting Ruud Gullit.
Did you get up to anything else at the show or whilst in Barcelona?
Our first night was action-packed. Our partners at GBG invited us to an exclusive restaurant, and we ended the night at the excellent BetConstruct party—a night to remember.
Do you have any key takeaways from the event to share?
I learned a thing or two about business development, and who else to learn from than the legendary Gary and Koko?!
Would you recommend the conference and go again?
100%
