A vibrant week in Dubai representing Malta at the International Boat Show
Last week, our Maltese Director, Joanne, headed to the United Arab Emirates to attend the Dubai International Boat Show!
One of Middle East’s most anticipated boat shows and recognised as MENA’S largest, luxury yacht and lifestyle event, there were over 1,000 exhibitors and over 200 boats on display. The prestigious event provides an incredible platform, showcasing luxury yachts, cutting-edge marine technology, lifestyle brands and innovative water sports products.
As stand partners with Yachting Malta, Joanne was there representing Affinity and our bespoke yachting services in the jurisdiction. The first year Yachting Malta has had a presence at the show, Joanne was joined by the Malta Ship Registry, the Super Yacht Industry Network – Malta, and several other key industry stakeholders, showcasing Malta’s position as a leading yachting hub.
We hear from Joanne on how she found the event,
‘It was an incredible week in Dubai for the International Boat Show. It was amazing to see so many cultures unite, there was such a varied attendance of visitors and exhibitors from across the globe, it was great to see the industry come together. The show put on a vibrant display of exhibitors and entertainment throughout the week, it was very impressive.
A key takeaway of course was catching up with friends and intermediaries within our yachting network. A big part of what we do is building long-term relationships and working closely with partners in sector, to facilitate support and services for our clients. It was also a perfect opportunity to network in a global yachting ecosystem to forge new relationships, from brokers, lawyers and builders.
Affinity partnered with Yachting Malta to promote our bespoke yachting services in Malta. Having been in the yachting sector in Malta since 2011, it was a brilliant opportunity to share our expertise on Malta’s yachting environment and range of corporate services.
Malta Shipping Registry currently ranks first in the world in terms of Superyachts registered, which are defined as yachts over 24m, and they have been in this position for the last 4 years. It is a testament to the quality of services available for yachts in Malta, and the attractive environment it has to offer. It was clear that the interest in the jurisdiction has not slowed down. The Maltese flag continues to offer the industry an avenue that guarantees quality and encourages confidence.”
